about
This wasn't my first planned single but this song is all about anger and frustration and the futility of politics to change anything in the world that needs changing. It is about feeling powerless. After George Floyd died it seemed made for right now. I hope it resonates since I expect a lot of people to feel this way. Please check it out.
lyrics
where's that guy in the desert?
we have so many people in the sand
where's that guy we're suspicious of?
you'd think it'd be the same man
but who have we chosen to lead us to the holy land?
he was never chosen and the end of the world is his plan
it's so useless, yeah
they got TV men in their back pocket wallets
they got shady men tappin' phones in Tijuana
they got my folks thinkin' I'm not patriotic
they got my friends gone and dying for the Saudis
and we just sit here and watch the TV news
about Lindsay, China, and the fat cat blues...
it's so useless, yeah
they got ancient nations buried in the sand
blood and boots and oil since time began
they got fake elected leaders picking helpful users
so they can tune in and think of ways to abuse us
but who cares about the drowning man?
and who cares about the drowning land?
it's so useless, yeah
